Hannah is an incredibly talented musician, whom I've had the great pleasure of working with for the last four years, in her role as accompanist for Salisbury Plain Military Wives Choir. Hannah accompanies with such sensitivity and flexibility, adapting as our performances unfold. She is unflappable, even in the most challenging situations, as well as highly reliable. We are so fortunate to have such a skilled pianist working with our choir, who really enhances our performances.

Hannah has been my daughter’s vocal coach for over 3 years. Seeing and hearing what has been achieved during that time is staggering, not only in terms of the improvement in technique and range, but in my (previously shy) daughter’s levels of confidence. Hannah is adept in tailoring song choices (ranging from musical theatre, to classical/traditional and pop) to the pupil’s strengths and weaknesses to ensure there is development, and she also uses a variety of techniques to help improve breathing and vocal clarity. Hannah manages to successfully balance her polished levels of professionalism and expertise with also being an incredibly warm and fun person who makes the lessons a joy. It is the hour every week my daughter most looks forward to. I can’t recommend Hannah highly enough.

I joined the DC choir almost two years ago and am looking forward to the sessions immensely. Hannah is a great teacher, always cheerful and positive, and knows how to make the warm-ups interesting and fun and how to teach this group of varied ability to bring out the best in all of us without ever making anyone less valued. Her hard work of providing teaching tracks, of devising Zoom practices and keeping us all together in these difficult times deserves my highest praise

I am not quite sure where to start..... You are an energetic and inspiring musical dire ctor, and a fun and caring person. It is always such a pleasure to come to choir as I always leave uplifted and happy afterwards. We are such a diverse bunch but you do a magnificent job in pulling us all together- whatever our musical knowledge, experience or ability. You gently stretch our voices and develop our singing confidence, and keep us on our toes with a varied and sometimes eclectic mix of musical genres to test our vocal chords on. Without you and the choir on Monday evenings the week is a lot duller!

I am a disabled War Pensioner living alone, being a member of DCC benefits me greatly for the following reasons: 1. Just being able to come together and sing with like minded people of different abilities is amazing. 2. My confidence has not been too good lately. I certainly feel being able to be part of a functional team again, is really helping me to get back on track. 3. My singing and understanding of music was not great, since joining the choir I have a much better understanding about the relationships needed within our choir. Being part of our choir is marvellous, but without Hannah’s expert leadership and musical knowledge together with an amazing sense of humour really helps me to feel I am safe and able to express myself during practice sessions.

As relative newcomers to the village, joining Durrington Community Choir was a great way to meet new people. Right from the start, we were made to feel very welcome. With a mixed range of ages and abilities, it didn’t take long us long to find our places in the choir. Hannah’s arrangements keep things interesting, while her bubbly personality ensures that the sessions are always both fun and challenging. When Covid struck, Hannah worked really hard to ensure that we could continue with virtual sessions, not only mastering the intricacies of Zoom, but also using her musical and vocal talents to provide a full range of vocal tracks and other resources to enable us to practice between sessions. The choir has been a real tonic and morale booster in these difficult times - we can’t wait until we can once again all get together in person again.

Keeping going with Hannah on Zoom has been great as she always makes sure we have a laugh as well as a good sing

I would like to say as a choir recipient I find your way of teaching Uplifting, enthusiastic, always giving encouragement to improve and try new singing techniques. All in all good fun

Hannah has built a very successful choir from scratch, bringing together experienced singers and complete novices who, under her tuition, are now able to sing a wide variety of music which is enjoyed by both the singers and the community. During the pandemic her hard work and enthusiasm has kept the choir together and they are all looking forward to being able to return to normal rehearsals and concerts

Hannah is a great teacher who always brings out the best in the choir. She challenges us and introduces pieces we would never have considered but really enjoy once mastered

Hannah is a talented music teacher, actress, singer and choir director. She leads our choir with enthusiasm, humour, music skills and a beautifully pitched voice. Since lock down she has lifted our spirits on Zoom, mastering the technical wizardry especially... and inspiration to us all.

Choir with Hannah is a pure joy. Her caring yet professional attitude makes the time spent a haven from life’s troubles....even Covid. If you want to sing a variety of genres then she is the one for you. Where else would the Hallelujahs by Handel and Leonard Cohen be included in the same repertoire? Bliss
